“Bottom line is, even if you see them coming, you're not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does.
So, what are we, helpless? Puppets? Nah. The big moments are gonna come, you can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's
when you find out who you are." - Joss Whedon

U.S. Kids: If you want to adopt a child from the United States, WACAP can help. We work with private and public agencies throughout the country to find families for legally available children age 8 and older who are in the foster care system.  If you live in Oregon or Washington, you're also eligible to adopt a child as young as 3. To do that, you'll need to become licensed as foster parents. This enables WACAP to match you with a child who has a court-ordered adoption plan. You can then serve as that child’s foster parents while you wait for the child to become legally free for adoption.

Families in the Puget Sound area may also consider WACAP's foster-adopt program. Foster-Adopt families become licensed as foster parents, and commit to providing loving foster care as long as it is needed. They also commit to adopting the child when (and if) the child becomes legally free for adoption. Please contact our US Kids department for more information on this program.
